Very rewarding and low commitment volunteer opportunity; helping out at Risborough Youth Club. For 2 hours on Monday evenings, large numbers of local 11-17 year olds come to Risborough Youth Club on Hawthorn Road for a safe and inclusive place to socialise, play, learn skills and have fun. The current team of volunteers are becoming stretched as the club becomes more and more successful and are in need of help.

If you would like to find out more about Risboroughs lively, entertaining and fantastic young people, we would love to hear from you. Any youth work training needed will be offered and all checks and support provided. 7pm – 9pm Mondays. No experience required, just the desire to make a difference.

With the help of family and friends, mother of two dyslexic children Joy, intends to set up a charity/social enterprise aimed at supporting the youth of Princes Risborough particularly those with Dyslexia and other special educational needs.  Joy a dyslexic herself is determined to see those with special needs being fully accepted by their peers and achieving the best out of life, being fully supported to achieve fulfilling careers.

The second goal of the intended charity is to provide leisure activities and day trips for all youths of the Risborough Area.

Joy needs to raise £10,000.00 in start-up costs and has been working hard to raise the funds by having a market stall, car boots stalls and selling online.  In February she was joined by neighbour Mandy and together they have been busy spreading the word, designing a logo, collecting donated items and planning fund-raising events.

Can you help with the project?  Do you have some items you are willing to donate or some free time to help, with fundraising events, or perhaps you have experience with event planning, marketing or social enterprises?   If you can help or wish to know more about the project, please ring Joy on 07539 677103 or Mandy on 07753 313802, or alternatively use the contact form on this website.
